The Norwegian precision of Elephant9 (Rune Grammofon Records) meets the joy of playing of the swinging Hannes Klemme Trio in the MPS studio. One evening - two concerts where Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg's young talent meets the international avant-garde.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The concert also marks the start of the TRIO EXPANDED program series, which reinterprets the traditional formation of the trio with piano or other keyboard instruments.<\/p>\n

Elephant9<\/strong>, consisting of\u00a0St\u00e5le Storl\u00f8kken<\/strong>(keyboards),\u00a0Nikolai H\u00e6ngsle<\/strong>\u00a0(bass) and\u00a0Torstein Lofthus<\/strong>\u00a0(drums), are known for their thrillingly intense and innovative performances that combine elements of jazz, rock and psychedelic. The thoroughbred musicians in this group have a past in bands such as\u00a0Bigbang<\/strong>,\u00a0Shining<\/strong>,\u00a0Motorpsycho<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Supersilent<\/strong>, which underlines their musical richness and versatility. Their music is characterized by virtuoso skills and an intense live energy that captivates the audience. The trio released their debut album \u201cDodovoodoo\u201d in 2008 and \u201cWalk the Nile\u201d in 2010, which was awarded the Spellemannprisen<\/strong>\u00a02010 in the jazz category and has received much praise from the jazz, experimental and indie scenes worldwide. Influenced by the early\u00a0Mahavishnu Orchestra<\/strong>,\u00a0Softmachine<\/strong>,\u00a0John Coltrane\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Goblin<\/strong>transform\u00a0Elephant9<\/strong>\u00a0their musically sophisticated cocktail into the sound of the present.<\/p>\n

We are particularly looking forward to presenting our unique Hammond organ from 1957<\/strong> for the first time at a concert. This rare instrument, known for its warm and powerful sound, will enhance the sound of Elephant9 <\/strong>in a special way and create a special musical experience.<\/p>\n

The Hannes Klemme Trio<\/strong> is a classical piano trio! The unmistakable style of the band, consisting of Hannes Klemme<\/strong> (piano), Mina Lichtenberg<\/strong> (bass) and Jurij Espenschied<\/strong> (drums), is made up of influences from swing and traditional jazz, as well as blues and gospel. The sound model and style reference are the piano trios of the 1960s, whose warm and rich sound feels like home. What makes the trio special are the sophisticated arrangements, combined with the necessary amount of effortlessness, elegance and humor that it takes to create an unforgettable evening! The focus is on the dialog between piano, double bass and drums, which have a lot to tell each other about jazz standards and original compositions. Hannes Klemme Trio<\/strong> promises good time, good sound and a good mood! The three up-and-coming musicians will play in the supporting program that evening.<\/p>\n
