After appreciating each other's work for some time, they began working together in 2007 in a friend's piano-lined kitchen. Until the release of their debut album \u201e<strong>The Sacrifice For The Music Became Our Lifestyle<\/strong>\u201c, their musical gatherings were a rather private affair for several years when <strong>The Dogmatics<\/strong> and toured England, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden and Switzerland.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While <strong>Chris Abrahams<\/strong> especially for his distinctive, repetitive piano playing as a member of<strong> The Necks<\/strong> is known, has <strong>Kai Fagaschinski<\/strong> in recent years has focused more on compositional projects such as <strong>The International Nothing<\/strong> and <strong>The Magic I.D.<\/strong> concentrated. In their duo, they embark on an off-road journey, one could also say an expedition. Their approach is an open process of delicate sonic exploration in which the fusion of lyricism and abstraction never needs to be negotiated. While her debut \u201e<strong>The Sacrifice ...<\/strong>\u201c showed a broad spectrum of short, sometimes absurd stories, the new album \u201e<strong>Chop Of The Tops<\/strong>\u201c deep into the nature of sound. And these sounds seem to be otherworldly substances, perhaps liquids, navigated and observed by two true alchemists. Time is stretched towards silence before reaching uncanny terrain. The measuring instruments are still a piano and a clarinet.
