Please register here: <strong>info@mps-studio.de<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Where there is light, there is also shadow.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On this evening, the former teacher and historian <strong>Wolfgang Heitner<\/strong> about the prisoner-of-war camp (STALAG V B), which is located in the immediate vicinity of the <strong>SABA production facilities<\/strong> existed. It will provide insights into the everyday lives of people from different nations who were forced to work here, including for the company <strong>SABA<\/strong>. This involves the camp site on which the residential area was recently built. <a href=\"https:\/\/mps-studio.de\/en\/stadttraum-richthofenstrasse\/\"><strong>Von-Richthofen Park<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0was created in order to document the situation in Villingen during the National Socialist regime as well as individual fates and the involvement of the company <strong>SABA<\/strong> in this dark era. The lecture is accompanied by historical images.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After a moderated Q&amp;A session, the audience will also have the opportunity to put their own questions to <strong>Wolfgang Heitner<\/strong> to place.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Without <strong>SABA<\/strong> would be the internationally renowned <strong>MPS Studio<\/strong> would have been unthinkable later. Groundbreaking photographs were taken here, including the series <strong>\u201eJazz Meets the World\u201c<\/strong>, where Western jazz musicians recorded together with artists from Africa, South America and Asia - an origin of what we now call \u201eworld music\u201c.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As early as the early 1960s, Villingen welcomed important black jazz musicians from the USA and Canada, including <strong>Oscar Peterson, Milt Buckner<\/strong> or <strong>Nathan Davis<\/strong>. These encounters resulted in close friendships, as the example of <strong>Oscar Peterson<\/strong> shows: The world star of jazz piano regularly returned to his friend <strong>Hans-Georg Brunner-Schwer, <\/strong>SABA heir and the founder of the <strong>MPS Studios<\/strong>, to record masterpieces in a relaxed atmosphere.<br \/>\n<strong>This shows that music connects and overcomes prejudices - an alternative to racism and exclusion.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Admission: 19:00<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Start: 19:30<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Admission is free, admission only after prior registration by e-mail.
