MPS studio tour & Open stage for improvisation

Visit the listed MPS studio and learn more about the history of this historic location, the founder Hans-Georg Brunner-Schwer, his sound engineers and producers, the recording technology and the label's many releases.

In addition, various music samples from the active days of the MPS recording studio and label take you on an acoustic journey back to the 60s and 70s. A guided tour of the rooms allows you to follow in the footsteps of international music history and experience the important recording studio in an authentic way.

Musicians will also be on stage for this special tour: our rare Hammond organ from 1957 will be presented, Hartmut Janke will elicit the extraordinary sound spectrum of our special Bösendorfer Grand Imperial concert grand piano, and we are also looking forward to a surprise guest.

After the tour, it's open stage for improvisation in the MPS studio, as a small homage to Joachim-Ernst Berendt: any instrument is welcome and can be brought along. Our instruments can also be played after a short introduction. So the music-making and jamming continues with and without our stage professionals from the studio tour. Whether guitar or drum, professional or amateur - here it's all about listening to each other, developing something new without a predetermined framework and perhaps getting to know new musical accomplices.

Please note: the Open Stage is not a talent competition. The focus is on playing together, freely and informally.

Please park in the surrounding streets, e.g. in Waldstrasse. There is no parking available in our yard. Except for bicycles. Vehicles can only be parked in the courtyard for loading and unloading.
