100 YEARS OF RADIO - Live with Tubong (Saturday)
TUBONG! „Sound transducers, wave riders and apparatus builders“
A musical and literary journey through time to the great SABA exhibition in the Franciscan and 100 years of radio.
SABA, MPS and all kinds of wireless things from Hildegard von Bingen to Herbolzheimer.
As with their role models Duke Ellington, J.S. Bach and Eugen Cicero, TUBONG's musical program is a journey through time to historical sources of inspiration.
This time they travel to the origins of radio and its inventors, transmitters and receivers; to the birth of the SABA company; to the founders of the MPS label and, last but not least, to the musicians and musical styles that were broadcast and heard worldwide via the devices.
There will be a reunion with hits from the pens of MPS heroes such as Volker Kriegel and Peter Herbolzheimer, legendary sounds from the „Jazz meets the World“ era. There will also be inspiration from the „Early Music meets Jazz“ section, witty reminiscences on the subject of radio and jazz by Albert Einstein, Bert Brecht and the „jazz popes“ Michael Naura and Joachim Ernst Berendt, complemented by curiosities from the cultural interstices of the history of music and technology.
TUBONG! are

Tobias Rägle (tuba, trombone, tenor horn, perc.)
