As we sadly learned today, Gabriele Kleinschmidt, owner of GKP-Promotions, passed away at the age of 84. As a booking agent, Kleinschmidt was a courageous lateral entrant and music lover with a very big heart, showing the men of the jazz world where the hammer hangs.
An organizational talent, she booked tours for many jazz legends from 1974 onward, who were lovingly cared for by her. From Ron Carter, Attila Zoller to Sun Ra; also many MPS artists or MPS producer Joachim-Ernst Berendt appreciated their professionalism. Gaby follows her husband Mike Hennessy, who passed away back in 2017. Dear Gaby, the jazz world will be a different place without you. Rest in peace!
