LIMPE FUCHS (D) LIVE-CONCERT
Limpe Fuchs is a legend in the experimental music scene. In the late sixties, the percussionist and pianist played together with her then husband Paul Fuchs in the ensemble Anima on self-made instruments. During this time Lime and Paul Fuchs with the classical piano star Friedrich Gulda and with jazz greats such as Albert Mangelsdorff together and repeatedly aroused the interest of their audience with their new constellations. With the formation Anima she was also on a MPS publication to find: Heidelberg Jazztage 72 (The Authentic Live Recording).
Still a specialty: she has been touring internationally with her sound installations for decades. However, the trained pianist has never lost sight of her piano playing, but has continuously developed it. Her first release appeared in 1977 with the LP Piano Toscano (republished in 2015), recorded as part of the Gulda Festival on Moosham Castle. This was followed by the CD Pianobody (2002).
Since 2023, she has been expanding her piano program by integrating texts by various authors into her playing.
Limpe Fuchs will perform in the MPS studio this evening together with the trombonist Pit Holzapfel. He studied classical trombone at the Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich. As a trombonist, he is active in ensembles and bands of various styles. He also plays guitar in rock and free formations. He is a founding member of the Munich Ensemble for New Music Piano Possibile and devotes himself intensively to free improvisation. In addition to his work as a musician, he composes for documentary films and radio features.
