After years of extensive touring, they return Schnellertollermeier back with a new double LP: Shadow Web marks the beginning of a new chapter in the band’s 20-year history. This ambiguity and fluidity come as a surprise after the unmediated directness of their latest releases: The new album radiates clarity in every fiber, in every circular movement—and yet leaves so much open. On „Shadow Web,“ the present moment circulates, expanding as it resonates.

Schnellertollermeier In doing so, they counter the brutality, coldness, and contrived clarity of our global situation with a pulsating tapestry of sound made up of radiant warmth and improvisational playfulness. „Shadow Web“ does not proclaim any answers; it allows for ambiguity, opens up new realms of possibility, and creates time for contemplation. It spirals continuously downward—paradoxically, this generates a thermal upward energy time and again across the broad arc of the four long-form tracks.

With their genre-bending work and their highly precise, powerful, and transcendental live performances, the Swiss trio has earned a firm place on international festival stages: From the FIMAV Festival for Contemporary Music in Victoriaville to the famous avant-garde club SuperDeluxe in Tokyo and the Haldern Pop Festival in Germany, from Europe to South America, China, Japan, Canada, the U.S., and India—always in search of the greatest possible intensity.

Even in 2026, the three musicians are not concerned with managing their egos, maximizing the marketability of their music, or the general well-being of their listeners, but rather with the abolition of hierarchies: The traditional power dynamics between drums, bass, and guitar are Schnellertollermeier consistently dissolved. What remains constant is the obligation to submit to a collective organism, within whose independent existence the outlines of individual sonic identities dissolve.
