RON MINIS TRIO (Israel)

Ron Minis was classically trained as a pianist from the age of six. After devoting himself to various musical projects in Tel Aviv, mainly avant-garde, classical, jazz and punk. Today he brings his diverse experience to the jazz piano trio format and tours throughout Europe.

Among other things, he has shown how a piano can be used as a guitar and how electronics and sound effects can create a new playground for musical adventures. The compositions are supported by Yogev Gabay on drums and Bar Filipowicz on double bass. Thus, the Ron Minis Trio moves skillfully between the math rock of King Crimson, the precision of Miles Davis, the brute force of Helmet and the repetitive rhythm of Terry Riley. A precise genre definition is skilfully circumnavigated here and provides musical surprises.

As the MPS studio only has 50 seats on this evening, we strongly recommend advance booking.
