TO (ITA) LIVE-CONCERT
TO is an exceptional phenomenon. Founded in 1997 in Ostia, by the sea just outside Rome, the Italian trio has achieved worldwide cult status in more than 25 years and over 15 album releases. Thousands of concerts around the globe have cemented their reputation as an uncompromising, cross-genre live band.
The music of TO consistently defies pigeonholing: elements of metal, noise, prog, jazz, electronic music, ambient, industrial and contemporary music are fused into a completely independent sound language that cannot really be assigned to any of these styles - and yet bears traces of all of them. TO go their own way, radically, physically and always surprisingly.
Over the course of their career, the band has worked with an impressive list of artists, including Mike Patton (among others on the album Carboniferous), Joe Lally(Fugazi), King Buzzo (Melvins), David Tibet (Current 93), FM unit (Einstürzende Neubauten), Damo Suzuki (Can), Mats Gustafsson (Fire!)and members of The Ex, The Locust and Ruins. Publications have appeared with Ipecac Recordings and House of Mythology, where TO her highly acclaimed experimental trilogy (Jhator, Zu93 - Mirror Emperor, Terminalia Amazonia).
After a break due to the pandemic, the band made an impressive comeback in 2024 - with vinyl re-releases of their early works (Bromio and The Lost Demo) and a new creative phase. Particularly noteworthy is the collaboration with the Japanese noise rock legend RuinsAs RuinsTo the band toured with drummer Tatsuya Yoshida through Europe.

At the concert in the MPS Studio this explosive sound language meets a location steeped in history. Especially worth mentioning: Drummer Jacopo Battaglia, was already together with Mike Watt in the MPS Studio to experience.
