Mike Watt is an American bassist, singer and songwriter. He was co-founder and bassist of the legendary Minutemen (1980-1985), Dos (1985 until today) and Firepants (1986-1994). He began his solo career in 1994 with the album Ball-Hog or Tugboat?, since then he has released three more solo albums, most recently in 2010 with Hyphenated-man. He is also the frontman of the supergroup Big Walnuts Yonder (since 2008), member of the art rock group Banyan (since 1997) and is involved in several other music projects. From 2003 to 2013 he was the bass guitarist of Iggy Pop & The Stooges. Mike Watt is a legend of US postpunk / hardcore. His band Minutemen toured with the legendary Black Flag or Hüsker Dü. Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers learned his bass playing from Mike Watt. Watt has loved jazz since his early childhood and calls it John Coltrane or Miles Davis as important influences.

Watt has been described as „one of the best bass players in the world“. CMJ New Music called Watt a „pioneering post-punk bassist“. The readers of the NME voted Mike Watt one of the „40 Greatest Bassists of All Time“, and the LA Weekly voted him number 6 of the „20 best bassists of all time“. In November 2008, Watt received the Bass Player Magazine Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by Flea. The Red Hot Chili Peppers dedicated their best-selling album to Watt Blood Sugar Sex Magik from the year 1991.

With Il Sogno del Marinaio (Italian for The Sailor's Dream) is an experimental music trio formed in 2009. The band consists of Mike Watt (vocals and bass guitar), Stefano Pilla (guitar and vocals) and Paolo Mongardi (drums).

Stefano Pilla and Mike Watt met in 2005 when Watt was working with Raul Morales and Paul Roessler was on tour in Italy. Pilla acted as road manager for the three musicians. Pilla and Watt stayed in touch and in November 2009 Pilla invited Watt to Florence, where Pilla Watt met his friend, the drummer Andrea Belfi, introduced. Watt chose the Italian name to honor the Italian heritage of his mother and the band members, as well as his father's work as a sailor. The band embarked on a short tour of Italy almost immediately after forming and recorded their debut album „La busta gialla“ only one week after its foundation between performances.

The trio only plays 2 gigs in Germany, Hamburg and Villingen. We are looking forward to an exclusive concert with this band around the grandiose legend Mike Watt.
Attention studio concert only 50 seats. In good weather, barbecue in the courtyard, before and after the concert the DJ conglomerate „The Blasting Concept“ to play vinyl with several club members, from The Minutemen to Zoogs Rift.
